We emphasize the fundamental insights from solid mechanics, material engineering, and thermophysics to the design and fabrication of soft electronics, multifunctional materials, and other high-performance materials. We use these fundamental insights to impact critical domains such as soft robotics, wearable devices, and biomedical devices, and to better the interactions between human, machine, and environment. Our research has been supported by National Science Foundation (NSF), Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), and UNR.
